Brass Over Bridges Returns!

On November 9 in Oakland, witness the return of BoB in performance! This 80-minute program will include repertoire by Giovanni Gabrieli, Reena Esmail, Jennifer Higdon, Charles Mingus, and others.

Hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Oakland, this performance will include an intermission. Please maintain distance between groups while seated, and masks are required per Alameda County mandates.

General admission: $20

Festival of the Arts at Sacramento State University

Brass Over Bridges will be playing a full-length recital during the 2020 Festival of the Arts at Sacramento State University. The annual festival runs for a week each spring with multiple concerts and events in Theatre, Dance, Art, and Music. This year, the festival runs from April 21-26.

This program will feature music exclusively by female composers, and will include works by Joan Tower, Marti Epstein, Reena Esmail, Hildegard von Bingen, Jennifer Higdon and others.

Morrison Artist Series Intermusic SF Showcase

Brass Over Bridges will perform alongside other Intermusic SF artists, including the Curium Trio and the Alaya Project.

Intermusic SF has a mission "to support the professional and artistic growth of San Francisco Bay Area musicians whose focus is the small ensemble." Through programs that include fiscal sponsorship, grant-making, career development, and curated performance partnerships, IntermusicSF strengthens the careers of local artists who contribute to a vibrant and diverse music community.

Holiday Brass at Mission Dolores

Ring in the season with the glorious sound of brass instruments in a performance of holiday music at the historic Mission Dolores Basilica. Brass Over Bridges will perform music from the renaissance, baroque and classical eras, along with holiday favorites and rare finds from around the world. Joined by the Washington High School Choir, this program will showcase the resonance of voices, brass instruments and the beauty of the Mission Dolores Basilica.

The construction of the Mission Dolores Basilica was completed in 1918 and it is located next to the original chapel of Mission Dolores. The Mission Dolores Chapel is San Francisco’s oldest surviving structure, dedicated in 1791.

Brass Over Bridges presents: Altitude

Brass Over Bridges has returned to San Francisco after their four week residency at the Aspen Music Festival where they participated in the American Brass Quintet Seminar, hosted by the American Brass Quintet of The Juilliard School. They will present their program “Altitude” at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music on September 13th 2019 at 7:30pm. This program will showcase the range, history and musical colors of the brass quintet repertoire, featuring works by Lutoslawski, Ewald, Albinoni, Plog, and D’Rivera.

Enjoy a free outdoor concert by Brass Over Bridges in the heart of the San Francisco Financial District. This program will feature brass quintet music from a variety of genres including classical, swing, polkas and cinematic blockbusters.

About People in Plazas: What began as a forum for street performers who were paid by passing the hat has become a program that provides wide exposure and more than 500 paid “gigs” annually for local musicians. The series has grown to producing 120 + free performances at lunchtime in public plazas July through September.
